Before the start

How can we solve puzzles
that  made of random clues?

 Greetings, our dear friends!

We have been watching you. It’s clear you have talent, but talent is useless unless you prove it. The world is full of secrets, hidden messages, and puzzles that only clever people can solve. We are The Secret Society of Young Detectives, and we protect those secrets!

We have an urgent situation. Our main smart person, the brilliant Professor Elijah Woods, has GONE MISSING! His last message was mysterious and full of strange hints. We need fresh eyes to follow his path before his potentially dangerous research falls into the wrong hands.

You are now ready to join us. If you find the Professor, you will be allowed to become a member.Your job in this search is one thing, and it is very important: find Professor Elijah Woods and keep him safe. The Professor did not leave a map. He left many tricky puzzles.

To win, you must be good at these three things:
1.Finding Facts (information retrieval): knowing where and how to get the information you need online.
2.Reading clues (linguistic analysis): understanding tricky hints hidden in English words and sentences (Professor Woods loved word jokes!).
3.Putting it together (deductive reasoning): using logic to connect small pieces of proof to figure out where he is now.

THE DETECTIVE’S RULES

Before you start searching in secret places, you must learn the rules.

1. Work together: help each other! Share notes about where the Professor might be and what clues you found.

2. Use your tools: you can use English dictionaries and translation apps to look up words. But you must do all the thinking and solving yourself.

3. Follow the path: you must follow the clues in the order he left them.

4. Time limit: you have 5 days to finish this training. Use your time well!

Attention!!!
When you finish checking the evidence, you must send your results to The Secret Society of Young Detectives. If your work is perfect, you will earn a special code word. Remember that code! It’s the key to getting your official detective certificate.

 Let's go!
