Case File #451: The missing inventor

Professor Elijah Woods (62 years old) disappeared. He was last seen going into his special lab late Tuesday night. People say he was making an amazing machine that used sound waves to work. His helper, Mr. Finch, found the lab empty on Wednesday morning. The only things gone are the Professor and the finished version of his invention. The police are very confused. We think something bad might have happened (like he was taken) or maybe he planned to run away. Your main job is to figure out what happened and where he went.

Testimony of the Professor’s assistant, Mr. Finch: "I heard a strange, very high-pitched whistle around midnight. It only lasted a few seconds, and then there was total silence. I checked the main door, but it was locked from the inside. Near the main control board, I saw a small, folded piece of paper. I did not touch it, following the JDS protocol. P.S.
